expressions

Summer started off on a rainy start here in Minnesota. It felt like our weeks were full of inside activities. At work, the girls and I started getting board so we looked at the summer bucket list.  One of the activities was to have a mini photo shoot.

To start we wrote down 12 different kind of moods and expressions. I had the girls stand next to a solid wall near a window in their house. While one of them was getting their picture taken the other would shout out the expression. Having everyone involved kept the photo shoot fun and interesting. As soon as the word was shouted out, I quickly snapped the photo trying to get the real expression rather then trying to get a fake one.  Oh the giggles we had after seeing some of the funny faces being made!!

After all the expressions were captured I turned the photos into Black and White and cropped to square size in photoshop. I made the file size 18x24 and dropped in all the photos. The girls had fun picking the placement of expressions on the poster.  To print I saved my file as a PDF and brought to Fed Ex Kinko's.  I had them printed as a blueprint copy only costing $3 each.  If you would like a higher quality, there are other choices for you to choose from. We were simply going for cheap.

The girls hung the posters in their room by their bed. Super cute and a fun rainy day project.

What are you doing to keep busy this summer???

kathy d - Great idea…it would also look cute as a journal page. I can see doing this with my grandchildren. They would love it.ReplyCancel
