Craig’s List classifieds and a new hutch

Most nights while I sit on the couch and watch the evening news I open a new tab on my browser and search the overwhelming classifieds on craigslist. I always seem to get sucked in.

Recently I have been looking for  a hutch, velvet chair, yellow chair and old dresser.  I have learned that if you use key words like “old” vs “vintage” your more likely to find some hidden goodies that are lower in price.

A few weeks ago while at a thrift store I noticed this small hutch that was being used for displaying vintage dinnerware. Of course the tag on the hutch said ” for display only” OF COURSE, right.

It’s so hard to walk away from what I thought was the perfect little hutch.  And don’t worry, I tried   begged them to sell it to me.

After realizing that the hutch cold not come home with me I started searching craigslist. A couple of weeks later I finally found one very similar to the one at the thrift store, and it was my price range!!  And to be honest this was the first purchase on Craig’s list I haven’t bartered on.

I added a few new knobs I got at anthropologie and hobby lobby  to the drawer and doors.

IMG_4130I just love seeing the transformation of a unwanted piece of furniture. Sometimes the outside looks so ugly and unwanted, but with a little extra love it can shine and look new again.
