Be Crafty Minneapolis - Fall Weaving Workshop

Hello friends! It’s Jessica here—I had the privilege of helping Amanda with the recent Be Crafty workshop in Minneapolis. Today I’m popping in to share a recap of the event and a few photos of our weaving!  We enjoyed the perfect fall afternoon with friends new and old, creating our wooden frame looms from scratch and using them to create yarn wall hangings.   We greeted our guests with these amazing mini weave name tags created by Amanda, then got straight to work with our hammers! You can imagine the racket involved in 10 girls pounding so many nails in our echoing warehouse studio space. We were all laughing at ourselves, with ears ringing, table rattling, and trying not to lose our thumbs along the way. Once our loom construction projects were complete, we moved on to the more relaxing, inspiring portion of the project-weaving the afternoon away with the most lovely colors and textures of yarn. Amanda shared a few tips and tricks for adding color, pattern, and of course fringe, then we turned everyone loose to chit chat and create. We set up a treat table on one of Amanda’s famous painted dressers and came up with three unique popcorn flavors for our guests to snack on while crafting.
