This past Saturday the BE CRAFTY studio welcomed the amazing Lesley Zellers and a lovely group of ladies for a afternoon of  chalk art and Valentine’s day inspired crafting.

Be-Crafty-Valentines-2015-07The extraordinary Melissa from The Faux Martha spoiled us with her amazing homemade italian soda syurps for our Italian Soda bar . I might have had more then my fair share of her delicious heart stamped sugar cookies.

If you would like to learn more about our Italian Soda bar hop on over to Melissa’s blog. Today she is sharing the anatomy of an Italian Soda

It was such a treat to have Lesley  chalk all of the chalk boards.

Be-Crafty-Valentines-2015-08A few weeks ago I found this cute metal library catalog at the thrift store. I knew right away it would be perfect for our treat display.  With it being in such rough shape, I spray painted it white, which just happened to match the treat table.

Jessica made the most beautiful flower arrangements that fit perfectly inside two of the catalog drawers.

It’s not often that you get to take a picture with your friends without having to step on your tip toes.                        (Melissa, Amanda, Lesley)

The book shelf was filled with all shades of pink and red paints for our heart stamp dishtowel and painted bead project.

The big pink and white balloons from Shop Sweet Lulu were a huge hit. I think every party needs one or two them.

I always love listening and joining in on all the chatting that happens around the crating table. So fun getting to know and met local girls who share the same love of crafting.  Be-Crafty-Valentines-2015-29

My newly painted pink french dresser was filled with project supplies. Hanging above the dresser is Maggie Holmes party banner which is part of her new Confetti collection.

Lesley taught everyone tips and tricks on creating chalk art. She always amazes me.

After  Lesley’s lesion, everyone created their own chalk art on their chalk canvas from The Modern June.

By the end of the workshop everyone went home with 3 handmade projects.

  1. Heart stamped dish towel with sewn lace trim
  2. Geometric wood beads painted necklaces
  3. Oil chalk canvas wall hanging banner

Each attendee went home with a heart stamped canvas bag full of swag from our amazing sponsors.

A big thanks to our swag bag sponsors who sent us items from their handmade shops:

  1. Pen and Paint
  2. Emily Steffen
  3. Live sweet shop
  4. Julep Maven
  5. Drew B. Photo
  6. Pretty Girl Designs
  7. Abby Hyslop
  8. The Modern June
  9. Inspire Lovely

We filled the studio with over 25 girls . What a fun day it was.

A big thanks to the lovely and talented Jessica who spent the day capturing our day behind the lens. Be-Crafty-Valentines-2015-19

Kelli H. - From on MN girl to another… Leslie shared a picture of a shop that you gals went junking at that had marquee letters. Would you be willing to share or email me the name of that shop and maybe where it is located? I have been looking all over SW MN for a couple letters for our home, and have had no luck. I’ll be in the cities next month and would love to stop by this shop to see if I can find a couple. I would be super grateful! All my love – KelliReplyCancel
