I could possibly eat waffles everyday, which lead me to hosting a waffle breakfast to help celebrate my mom’s retirement with a few of her favorite friends.
This past weekend I hosted a small party in honor of her retirement. I still find it amazing that she worked at the same company for over 33 years. Something you rarely see anymore.
Decorating for parties is always a favorite. I wanted to keep this party simple but colorful.
The table was set for 10, each plate had a different colored cloth napkin with vintage gold flatware that was set on top. I used a white roll of paper for the middle runner, which I had painted different colored stripes to help add a few pops of color to the room.
In the middle of the table I arranged 2 flower center pieces using the same color pallet as the table runner.
The pink goblets and gold rimmed orange juice glasses were both found at the thrift store. I have been collecting the pink glasses for awhile and finally had enough to actually use at a big party !!!! Finally my hoarding paid off !!!!
And what’s a party without balloons. I am a huge fan of North Star Balloons, especially these gold letters that you can use to spell any phrase you want. On each side of the banner I painted a bow using black paint . Once the paint dried I cut around the bows and then hung each one on the side of the balloon banner.
It was a fun morning with lots of girl talk and celebrating. Everyone left with full bellies and adding a waffle maker to their want list. I think we need to find more reasons to have waffle parties.
Nicole - What paint was used to paint this table runner?
I love it!
Do you have a tutorial?

Do you have a tutorial for how this was done?
[email protected] - Hi Nicole,
The table runner is a white paper from a roll. I used a variety of paints to create the colored stripes.
