Family Room Tour with RugsUSA

Happy Friday Friends.

We made it through another week. These summer days are just flying right on by . I have been working on lots of house projects this summer and one of them was our down stairs family room.  It is the room in our house that never seems to get finished.

I think the  hardest part for me and one of the main reasons I never wanted to finish decorating was knowing the fact I couldn’t remove the brown carpet.  It was an eye sore for me and something I just had to come to realize I had to work around.

When you can’t remove carpet, hide it with a big area rug.  BEST IDEA !!! Why I didn’t think of this sooner !!! Thanks to the pink Windsor Rug from RUGSUSA  my issue has been solved !!!

This is the room where everyone gathers when we have lots of gusts over. The hutch in the back corner is filled with games and coloring supplies for our little visitors.

The coffee table was found at the thrift store along with all of the side tables. Since they all were all different wood finishes I painted them white so they would match.

I hung large square frames on the back wall that I spray painted gold. Since the room was filled with bright colors and patterns I wanted to keep the photos inside black and white.

To bring in some pattern to the room I wallpapered the long hallway that is behind the couches which leads to the bathroom, laundry room and guest room.  I love the gold metallic peony’s.  It defiantly helps this room come to life with it’s bold statement.

Lesion learned. Always add a RUGSUSA area rug to your living space. Looks like I need to go shopping for a couple more rugs to finish off the rest of the rooms in my house.

This room makes me all kinds of happy now !!! I love walking down the stairs and finally seeing it all put together.
