Let’s go thrifting

It’s pretty obvious that I love a good find at the thrift store.  I normally make my rounds on Tuesday and Thursdays. The two days I am usually out and about. Depending on the day I can be out for a quick 30 min or a couple hours. My route can lead me to up to 10 stores +.   And Thursday is 30% off  at most of the stores.

Every trip is different, which make it so fun.

This weekend I had a few Craig’s List pick up scheduled. My mom is my road-trip pal, always along for the adventure with me.

I started clearing out photos off my phone and thought I would share with you a few things things that have landed in my cart lately. The girls at  The  White House co.  ( Katie and Sam ) and I are always sharing our finds with each other.  I’m pretty sure our group text sends over 100 messages a day.

Vintage books + flashcards are two of my weakness. I never buy books unless they are on sale or if I have a coupon. Flashcards are always cheap and I will never pass them up.

thrifting3A 1945 world atlas.  I couldn’t stop smiling when I found this.  Every state has its own page too.

Sometimes I take photos of things I have seen. This vintage buggy was so cute, but had a hight price tag of $60. Sadly, I had to pass.

A set of 4 pink depression glass. You bet they came home with me. They were only .99 each.

It’s all about color friends. This set of old cookware made my eyes fill with hearts. I grabbed one pot for a upcoming project.  I am always on the look out for props for projects.

thriftingpansGlobes. Another item that usually will land in my cart. This was the first time I found a metal one.  They come in a variety of sizes, mostly known for piggy banks. This one is a fun medium in size.

The cuteness of this cat is the only reason why I got it. It was made in Japan so I know it was older. thrifting5Any kind of paper divider in a cute box get me weak in the knees.

I always grab item’s that are out of season, mostly because people aren’t looking for them. I love this yellow/mustard yellow cooler.

thrifting7I wish I could bring all the treasures home with me. If I don’t set a budget for the day I tend to go crazy. Setting an allowance really helps me decided if an item is really worth getting .

In the end if you love it and it makes our heart skip a beat grab it. It won’t be there next time you come.

angela fransen - Hi Amanda — LOVE your blog and that you’re a local TC gal. Would you sometime share your fave thrift shops that you love to hit? It’s fairly easy to find those common places, but I am always on the lookout for the places I wouldn’t come across easily!

Thank you — I hope to attend an event in the near future!ReplyCancel
