summer breeze + fan DIY

fanbefore

Hello Summer, Good-bye Spring.

Just like that it went from being in the 60’s to 80’s. I am not complaining. I love summer, and the warm sun. Each year I try see how long I can go without turning on the Air Conditioner. This past weekend I almost caved.

A few weeks ago I found this old metal fan sitting next to someone’s garbage can. Attached was a sign that said           ” I work”.  Of course I jumped out of my car, picked her up and brought her home for a little DIY makeover.

This project was super easy. All you need is a screwdriver, and a couple cans of spray-paint.

After everything was wiped down and the grates were removed, I started spraying from the outside. Once the outside was covered, I used a paper bag to protect the outside base and began spraying the fan propeller.

The grates needed 2+ coats, as I wanted to make sure all the areas were covered.  Once everything was dry, I screwed the grates back onto the metal frame.

I am loving her new look, and here’s to hoping for at least 2 more weeks without the AC on !!!
