This past weekend the temps in MN finally reached above 60, the golden temp to spray paint outside. I patiently wait every spring for this day to come.
Last week I was inspired by my friend Maggie’s instagram photo. I have spray painted mason jars before, but fell in love with her multiple color collection. I immediately went to the garage to collect jars.
Two of my favorite types of spray paint are Valspar and Rust-oleum. These are my own personal opinions. I love Valspar, which can be bought at Lowes. It’s wide collection of colors is my favorite and most colors come with a primer which is a big plus. Rust-oleum is my go to for Gold and white, and can be picked up at walmart if i’m there.
Before you start any project, it is best to fully shake your can. I always spray a test spray to make sure the paint has been mixed well and does not spray uneven.
I will admit I am pretty lazy when it comes to putting paper down and painting. Our garage looks like one big rainbow in one area of by the end of summer. Luckily, during the winter months the dirt, rocks and snow fades it every year.
While at the hardware store picking up paint, I also picked up some flowers to plant inside some of the mason jars. We will be using them this weekend to decorate at the Be Crafty workshop. I think when we are done, they will make the perfect gift to leave on our neighbors door step for May Day!!!
