Laundry soap and a new typewriter

I can still remember the day clearly . Graduated  from High School, fearless and wanting to get out into the big world on my own. Then reality hits and I realized the big load of  laundry  sitting in the basket won’t get clean on it’s own.

This past weekend I had a few High School graduation parties to addend. I waited of course to the last minute to figure out a gift.  I wanted to do something meaningful and useful and handmade. As I sat on the couch trying to think I happened to look over and see a jar of laundry soap sitting on the table that I had just made for a sample for one of our upcoming workshops.

It was the perfect graduation gift. EVERY college student needs laundry soap.

I wanted to decorate the jar to make it more gift like, rather then just a jar of laundry soap. After painting the top with annies chalk paint, I sanded down part of the sides to give it a rustic look. I added a few ribbons and dug through my pretty paper and found these  jars from dear lizzy .

And with my handy NEW( old) typewriter I added directions +  cute little sayings onto the paper  jars. I am completely obsessed with my vintage typewriter . I think every project will need to have a little typing involved.

Love the idea of the homemade laundry soap, I should make some up for my girl. She just moved into an apt with 2 of her friends.ReplyCancel
