Wallpaper and a pink bed

I know you have been wondering if I was ever going to post details on my bedroom makeover, well it’s finally here.

I still have a few things I want to add and finish, but if I waited any longer I probably would never get to posting this.  And, more then likely something will have been changed by then, because lets face it, everything is always in a state of being re-done around here.

This room isn’t going anywhere for awhile.

This room is pretty small. I  have come to accept it, and  have learned  how to make the best out of the small space. I am thankful I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep on.

The room works as my bedroom/ craft room storage. Most dresser drawers or hutch cabinets in our house hold some sort of craft supply to help take some of the storage out of the bedroom.

I really wanted to brighten up the room, and make it feel bigger and more cheerful. I painted over my  gray walls with Polar Bear white from Behr paint.  That in itself added so much.

Once the room was painted it felt really blank, like something was missing.  I had my eye on a few wallpaper patterns for awhile and kept coming back to this pattern by Orla Kiely. I Bought it off ebay and to be honest, I was a little nervous going into this. I don’t second guess many decisions, the bright big bold pattern had me second guessing. After I placed the order online there was no turning back.

My amazing mom, the wallpaper queen taught me all her tricks and I can finally say I could wallpaper any room.

After the wallpaper was up, I painted my floor white( it was a light gray). I removed the carpet about a year ago and maybe one day I will be able add wood floor. If you follow my on Instagram you might remember me adding stripes to the floor.

Those didn’t last long.

This room has had its steps and stages. After the white floor was painted I realized I couldn’t paint my bed white with the floor being  white.

A few weeks later while browsing the new Marquee colors at Home Depot I came a cross Noble Blush.  I purchased 2 sample containers for $4 each and that night I  had a pink bed.

I love it so much.

Before the bed was pink, I purchased  these coral ruffled pillows at Home Goods. They were a great accent color to go along with the wallpaper. Now they blend in with the headboard still adding in a fun ruffled texture to the room.  The other pillow textiles are from Target and west elm.  The small front accent pillows are from Ikea.

In front of the bed is a white hutch that holds fabrics and other craft supplies. The white lockers have been a great bonus to the room.  The small metal aqua cabinet was given to me from a friend, after its painted makeover it now holds more supplies. Storage containers with doors is always a bonus.

At the end of the day, I love this room and all the new changes that have been made.

Dianne Schoeman - Love the color combination. A suggestion would be replacing the current light fixture with a chandeliet.
