We have waited all year for this. The day that Cuppakim announces sign-ups for her annual mug swap.  After waiting a week to receive my swap partner, I was excited to see my partner loves milk glass, which means I knew exactly which mug to get.  If you haven’t browsed the isles of Target, I highly suggest you peek at their collection of classy white dinner ware. I just might have hoarded placed a few in the cart for myself !!!

And the berry basket will hopefully help protect it inside its box … or  just make it look extra cute.

It’s always fun to add in a few extra’s, so I gathered  some of my favorite things. Have you tried chuao chocolate yet?? It’s pretty amazing.  And lets talk about its super cute packaging!!

I thought it would be fun to make some DIY wrapping paper with my new Dear Lizzy Stamp set.  The bike is just the cutest and makes this plain kraft paper extra fancy.

I am always a little nervous sending glass and breakables in the the mail, so I decided to double box which meant I could decorate the outside of the actual package.  I hope she doesn’t mind my messy handwriting. I was in a rush to make it to the post office before they closed, so hopefully the inside surprises make up for it.

By now you  know how much I love creating and sending pretty packages.  Last weekend while I was in Chicago I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon crafting and playing with some of the new shop sweet lulu  packaging product.  It was like a packaging girls dream come true.

prettypackagesamandaThere is just something so special about a empty box, and even more when it’s pink and gold.

Creating pretty packages doesn’t have to be expensive.  Sometimes the simpler the better. A few of my favorite item’s to always have on hand to make quick and easy gifts are:

  1. colored boxes
  2. washi tape
  3. ribbon
  4. mini honeycomb balls
  5. cupcake wrappers
  6. stickers
  7. twine

These simple little packages turned out so cute. And I just love how you can turn a simple box into a ready to go gift in just minutes. For more inspiration from our pretty packaging craft session  head on over to the shop sweet lulu blog.

I can almost remember the day I got an email from Artful Blogging magazine. I had just returned home from running a few errands ( ie: thrift store and post office). I quickly ran upstairs to  check my email as I had been waiting for a few important replies.  When I sat down to refresh my computer screen I literally fell off my chair. I was in complete shock to read a magazine wanted to feature me in their upcoming fall issue.

artfulbloggingHonestly, I was a little nervous. So many thoughts ran through my head. Did I have good enough photo’s for them to use, was the quality of the photos good enough and more then anything how much would I have to write. You might have figured out by now that I didn’t excel in English and writing class, and more then anything I really dislike writing which is kinda funny that I even have a blog.

With the help of my amazing cousin Michelle, who just happens to be an editor I was able to meet my writing deadline and turn in what I hoped reflected me and this blogging journey through a four page spread.

blogmagazineIt feels so surreal to be included in this magazine full of great talent. I never dreamt that I would be able to say that I have been published in a magazine.

My  friend Leslie and her sweet little Rylan took a date to the book store to see the feature. This little blog has created so much joy in my life. I would have never meet these two without it.

Artful Blogging Magazine can be found at Joann’s and Barnes and Noble and will be in news stands until the end of October.  I don’t say it enough, but thanks for following along with me in this creative journey. I hope more then anything you are inspired to create, and to crate without being perfect because thats what handmade is all about.
