There are so many favorite supplies. Somedays my house is covered in paper scraps, others with fabric. Most days you can find something waiting to be painted.
I have been making more then the usual trips to the paint store in preps for our upcoming minneapolis workshop.
Besides paint, I also needed to pick up a few hooks. I have been wanting these hooks for awhile. Unfortunately, the price tag was higher then I wanted to spend, especially when I need more then one. With a little paint, and a few coats, I was able to get the same affect. Don’t be afraid to paint all the things.
Spring finally arrived here in Minnesota this weekend, outside and in my house. On Saturday morning I brought the dirt inside and made one big mess.
I have always seen seed bombs at the green house in candy machines and wanted to try make them. Seed bombs are little balls of dirt, dry clay and flower seeds. They are intended to be placed in area’s where gardening in unavailable, but can be placed anywhere.
I found they were a lot easier to make then I thought. Please note: I read many different directions and worked with supplies I had on had.
SUPPLIES: Dirt, dry clay ( found at walmart for $5 in crafting section) wild flower / flower seeds
STEP 1: Mix in small batches, adding dirt and clay together.
STEP 2: Roll into small balls
STEP 3: Add a few flower seeds. The clay will hold the seeds in place. ( don’t add to many)
STEP 4: Set balls out in sun for clay to harden. ( about 24 hours)
STEP 5: Enjoy + Share
TO MAKE THE BAG:
I placed sticker letters in the middle of a small canvas bag. Using distress ink (for scrapbooking) mix with water in a small spray bottle. Spray over the stickers. I added more ink as I went to get a darker ombre look. Once the bag is dry, remove letters ( ok, I removed them right away, but best if you wait till it’s dry)
Crossing my fingers those little seeds grow, and make beautiful wildflower bouquets.
After waking up to 8-10 inches of fresh snow on the ground, I was in desperate need of some spring crafting.
I haven’t posted many DIY posts lately. I have been so busy prepping for upcoming workshops, that I just haven’t had time. I find it so easy to quick take a photo on my phone and post it over on instagram.
This projects is super simple, and hardly costs anything. I have been saving egg cartons for awhile since Easter is just around the corner. The ones I used are from Trader Joes. I like them best because they are covered on top.
The gold carton I used a metallic Rustoleum spray paint The peach carton I used regular paint ( shown below). I am a huge fan of buying paint at the hardware store in sample containers. The color sections are endless and you get way more for your dollar. I added a few paper pinwheels with Dear Lizzy paper and used lace and ribbons I had on hand.
This project is endless and is full of possibilities.
Inside I placed plastic eggs full of mini craft supplies : gold glitter clothes pins, mini rolls of washi tape, lace and stickers. A perfect Easter/Spring gift for any crafty friend.
It didn’t take long to get this Minnesota girl to say yes to Be Crafty Arizona. Back in November Cole,Heather, Katy, Lesley and Kate and I started planning the 2nd traveling BE CRAFTY workshop. So much love was poured into this event.
At the staircase leading to the workshop, each girl had a swag bag full of handmade awesomeness. At the top were giant balloons from sucre + confetti. Faces beamed with excitement as we meet the girls at the top of the staircase. Smiles and hugs were received as introductions were made.
Each bag was hand stamped by heather and strung from the side was a ruffled tag, mini honeycomb ball from shop sweet lulu ( 10% off with code : CRAFTY) and a felt flower name tag made by Cole. Inside each bag was a list of all the sponsors and their Instagram links. We love instagram here at BE CRAFTY. For more photos from the event search our hastags #becraftyworkshop and #becraftyworkshopaz.
