10 cans of spray paint later ( before and after locker DIY )

This weekend was all about finishing all the projects and completing my bedroom makeover.

I’m not quite ready to show you the full room quite yet as I have a few finishing touches to finish. I showed a few sneak peeks this weekend over on instagram.

I purchased the vintage lockers off craigslist for under $50.

The individual cubbies were a seller .  A easy way to organize and hide all of my craft supply  hoarding.

I originally wanted to paint the lockers pink like these , with a white floor I didn’t want to paint my bed white  leaving my only other option to paint my bed pink and the lockers white. I am thinking of adding numbers to each locker but haven’t found the right font in stickers.

With a few cans of  white spray paint, a lot of  patience waiting for paint to dry my lockers were ready to be brought into my room.

The room in general is pretty small, it is part bedroom part craft supply hoarding ie: I wish I had a big craft room.

I wanted the room to feel like a bedroom but still have a craft room like atmosphere.  On the main side wall I hung a few of my favorite frames along with some photos . I had bought the white letter ” a ” awhile ago and after a friend gift me the letter “R”  I knew I wanted to hang them next to each other.
Next to the white lockers I added a smaller metal cabinet that I recently found at the thrift store. Inside it has 5 shelves and holds more craft supplies .

Next to the small aqua cabinet I keep all of my paper rolls. They sit in a large white wood plant pot I got from ikea. It was cheap and works great for holding all the different sized rolls of paper.

On top of the aqua cabinet is a white metal basket that holds embroidery hoops in a variety of sizes.

It’s amazing what you can get done when you focus on one project at a time. So glad I spent the weekend in this room .

Jessica - Hey Amanda! We recently found some old lockers and I’ve been dying to paint them, but I wasn’t sure if they should be sanded first? Did you do any prep work (other than cleaning) or just start painting?

    Thanks!ReplyCancel

      [email protected] - Hi,

Depending on if they are rusty and chipped paint. If they are in good condition I wouldn’t sand them.ReplyCancel
